|
|
I am selling things thru the newspapers and received this email about buying an item. There has been communication about price and so forth and his “liable agent” in the states will send the money order. He keeps insisting that this is legitimate deal, but I believe it is a scam of some sort, I'm just not sure what is could be. Of course he has asked for my name, address, phone ect. Nothing more than anyone else would need to send a letter, but I feel uncomfortable sending that info to him.
Is this a scam, and what would be the end gain to him?
Reason I’m sure this is a scam is after some correspondence with him I received two more emails using the same form and misspelled language in the emails from two other people.
Thanks JJW

This looks very much like a scam to me. His IP points to a satelite provider and he wants to pay with Money Orders (probably fake).
The best would be to ignore him! |

I can echo what Tae has said to you. This looks highly dubious. |

Hi,
and I remember that combination of phrases from other scams:
Are you the first owner? The present condition? Your final asking price?

Thanks for all the replies. Did a search before I posted but didn't find anything, now I know where to look. Didn't understand what they would get out of it till I read about making the amount of payment wrong and asking for refund. Still don't know how they think a USPS money order would work since I can go to post office and they say they can immediately tell if its good or not.
Thanks for info. Great site _________________ JJW |
