Unfortunately we have had to remove the priviledges to Guests which allowed them to post without the need to register in some of the forums in the Victim Support group.
We regret we had to do this but were faced with little choice thanks to a troll, which repeatedly posted obscene messages as a guest. Normally this would no have been an issue as we can IP ban guests that cause problems, however by using a proxy it is possible to change IP addresses everytime the troll visited scampatrol to cause trouble making an IP ban ineffective. We would also like to avoid IP bans as users can often share IPs which meants we could end up blocking others as a result of attempting to curb the issue with trolls.
Therefore we ask you to register in order to post. There are many advantages to registering in any case. You will be able to send PMs to other users and we can tackle any problems with trolls much more easily as we can simply ban or restrict the username in question. |
